EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On July 11, 2006, the School Board approved contract (#1267A) for Terry Alderman to provide training and support with classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies at 25 Title I Renaissance Schools. Renaissance Schools all have poverty rates above 90%. During the course of the school year, as Focus Schools were identified to receive additional support, Dr. Alderman was requested to train and provide feedback to principals and teachers at these sites. The additional Title I sites were Cahoon Magnet, Egypt Lake Elementary, Lennard High School, Middleton High School, Sligh Middle School, and Wilson Elementary School. Six additional days of training were needed totaling $9,600.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Title I district staff development funds in the amount of $9,600 will be used to cover the cost of the amended contract.

EVALUATION

At the conclusion of the 2006/07 school year, a comprehensive survey will be completed to determine if the training delivered by Dr. Alderman caused a reduction in behavior incidents at the participating sites. This information will be used to assist the district when considering future contracts.
