EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Mathematics Sunshine State Standards have been revised by the Florida Department of Education and will be in effect beginning with the 2007/2008 school year. Agreements for Technical Services have been prepared with mathematics teachers to revise the high school mathematics curriculum, including exams. The team will meet at Hillsborough High School from June 11, 2007, through June 15, 2007, to develop curriculum in the following subjects: Algebra 1, Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Algebra Honors, Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, Geometry, Geometry Honors, Intensive Math 9, and Intenstive Math 10.

The participants will present new curriculum and exam content staff development workshops to teachers who will be teaching these courses for the 2007/2008 school year. The workshops will include two instructors for each of the 10 subjects with approximately 35 content teachers for each workshop. Training is scheduled to be held at King High School between July 2, 2007, and July 6, 2007.

We are requesting approval of the attached list of Agreements for Technical Services. The teams of participants are trained teachers who are experienced in the subject content and the new Sunshine State Standards. In order to complete the required project effectively, we request permission to add and delete participants as needed, not to exceed the budgeted amount of $23,000.
