Approve Third Amendment of Lease Between the School District of Hillsborough County and The Park at Bay Plaza Investors, LLC, Successor in Interest to North Houston Green, Inc. (“Former Landlord”) to Provide Intake and Eligibility Services for the School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten Programs (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This Third Amendment extends the lease between the School District of Hillsborough County and The Park at Bay Plaza Investors, LLC, consisting of 5,277 square feet of office space located at Bay Plaza II, Suite 210, 9325 Bay Plaza Blvd., in Tampa, Florida. The term of this lease will be extended through June 30, 2010, with a 1% annual increase in monthly rent as follows: state fiscal year (FY) 2007 - 08 $6,816.13; FY 2008 - 09 $7,036; and FY 2009 - 10 $7,255.88.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Contracts for the School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten Programs permit the use of federal/state funds to rent facilities for program operation. One hundred percent of the funds will be used for payment of rental fees, as stated above, for the term of the amended lease agreement commencing July 1, 2007, and expiring June 30, 2010.
