Approve Charges for Student Supplies – 2007/2008

The School Board annually approves charges, reimbursements, rental fees, etc. to cover the cost of consumable supplies, textbooks, vocational kits, etc.

Category 1 These funds are given to schools for consumable supplies. These funds are supplied by the School Board. Recommend increase to fees for Career and Technical for new courses.

Category 2 These charges are paid by the students and the books, kits, etc., become the property of the student. Each charge reflects the actual cost of the item.

Category 3 These are rental fees paid by the students.

Category 4 These items are service charges paid by the students and are primarily vocational club dues and similar charges.

Category 5 These are optional items including workbooks, paperback novels, etc. that are generally sold through the bookstore.

The School Board is responsible only for Category 1 items. Overall this is an estimated decrease in supply funds of $41,000 due to projected student enrollment and improvement made in calculating the middle school exploratory wheel. Student enrollment and supply funds are reviewed and adjusted at the 20th day of the school year. These funds are budgeted in Part I of the budget.
