Approve Agreement for Contracted Services Between the Center for Technology and Education and the ESOL Online Consortium for ESOL Online Courses, 2007/2008 (Exceptional Student Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Online Consortium membership consists of Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Seminole School Districts. Members of the ESOL Online Consortium may purchase services from the Center for Technology and Education for delivery of ESOL courses. The Center offers ESOL online courses statewide for teachers to meet state professional development requirements. Approval to purchase services through the consortium for a fee of $600 annually enables the district to provide these required online courses to our teachers at no cost to the participant.

We are requesting approval of this Agreement for Contracted Services, effective July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, by and between the Consortium members and the Center for Technology and Education to provide ESOL online courses at no cost to our teachers. The agreement establishes the procedures, utilization, delivery of services, and documents the fee schedule required for non-consortia members who will contract independently with the Center.

Between June 2006 and July 2007, 72 ESOL online courses have been provided to 2,160 participants.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
