SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Administrative Appointment of the Supervisor of Reading Research and Assessment (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is a new position that involves the overall evaluation of K-12 reading teaching strategies and initiatives in the district. The appointee will provide direct advice and guidance to the Curriculum and Instruction General Directors, reading supervisors, and teachers to ensure fidelity in the district’s reading program.

Specific responsibilities include oversight of data requirements and documentation required by the Florida Department of Education for the Comprehensive Reading Plan; planning for submission, review of, and dissemination to district staff of documents and relevant data; progress monitoring data for all state-required reporting windows from the Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network (PMRN), the Automated Student Data-Base System, the Automated Staff Data-Base System, and the Electronic Access to Student Information (EASI) System.
