Approve Renewal Contract for Full Service Schools with the State of Florida, Department of Health (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. The dollar amount reflects no change in funding since 1994. This is a performance-based contract. The money expands some health and social services at designated full-service sites. The Full- Service School funds provide health and social services to designated schools in our district. This is an annual renewal for flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Health Department to the School District. These funds provide registered nurses, food stamp officers, job referrals, and liaison services at the Just Elementary School and Sylvia Kimbell Center.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

$440,189 – Funds are provided by the Legislature from general revenue and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal dollars in a specific line item for Full Service Schools. This contract and the service to the community is based on the availability of funds.

EVALUATION
