AMENDMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AGREEMENTS

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc. and Batson-Cook Company to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at various schools. The architectural agreement for the classroom additions at Benito Middle School, FishHawk Creek Elementary School, Miles Elementary School, Newsome High School, and Pride Elementary School and the construction management agreement for the classroom additions at Benito Middle School, Freedom High School, Liberty Middle School, and Miles and Pride Elementary Schools are being amended to include the summer painting and flooring maintenance project at Benito Middle School. The scope of work includes repainting of exterior and interior of school, and installation of vinyl composition tile (VCT) in existing carpeted areas.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the project. Completion is scheduled for August 19, 2007.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $460,646. The construction budget is $460,646. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance.
