SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Agreement for Technical Services for Dolores C. McIntosh to provide Technical Support for Title I Charter and Alternative Schools with Respect to State and Federal Compliance Items in the Area of Parent Involvement (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Title I Program will be audited during the 2007-08 school year to determine compliance with state and federal regulations. Many regulations focus on the involvement of parents in their child's education. Dolores C. McIntosh, a former Title I supervisor, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Parent/Family and Community Involvement, will provide technical assistance to Title I Charter and Alternative schools monthly during the first semester by conferencing with staff and reviewing evidence of the school's compliance with regulations.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the FCAT Achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

This contract will be paid using Title I funds in the amount of $5,000.

EVALUATION

By January 30, 2007, schools will be surveyed to assess the quality and level of technical support that was provided by the consultant.
