APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 - $127,232.15 NET CREDIT

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed Atelier AEC, Inc. and Christiano Construction Company to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at Brooker, Temple Terrace, and Yates Elementary Schools, and Burns Middle School. On March 14, 2005, additions at Tampa Palms and Chiles Elementary Schools were added to the package. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. The scope of work provides for the following additions: 18 classrooms at Brooker, 8 classrooms at Chiles, 12 classrooms at Tampa Palms, 14 classrooms at Temple Terrace, 12 classrooms at Yates, and 12 classrooms plus group toilets at Burns. The Board approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price for this scope of work on July 12, 2005. After Board approval, the scope of work at Chiles Elementary School was changed to 16 classrooms. The project was redesigned; permitting and bidding efforts were undertaken.

This change order provides a credit for the direct purchase of materials by the District. It also includes modifications to height of roof curbs supporting the roof-mounted air conditioning equipment, and addition of elevator shaft steel support and exterior electric water cooler at playcourt.
