Recognition of Recipient of the 2007 Presidential Scholar Award, King High School Graduate - Charles M. Zhu (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We are pleased to recognize Charles M. Zhu, King High School graduate, as a Presidential Scholar for 2007.
- The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 by the President of the United States to honor some of our Nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors.
- Each year 2,600 candidates are identified due to their exceptional performance on the SAT or ACT assessments. From this number, 141 students are selected as Presidential Scholars based on their outstanding educational accomplishments. Charles was one of only five Presidential Scholars named in the state of Florida.
- Charles was invited to visit Washington D.C. as a guest of the government, where he received a Presidential Scholar Medallion from the President of the United States.

Critical Success Factor 1.e: Involve families in supporting literacy at home.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $87 from the Guidance Department general operating budget were used to provide the recognition plaque.
