HIGH SCHOOL "UUU"
PUBLIC HEARING FOR APPROVAL OF DETERMINATION OF
CONSISTENCY RENDERED BY HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Board has previously approved the Purchase and Sale Agreements for four parcels totaling approximately 101 acres located at the intersection of Newsome and Gallagher Roads in eastern Hillsborough County. The agreements were originally approved in October 2006 and amended agreements were approved in May 2007. The properties will be used to construct a high school, middle school, and elementary school.

The Interlocal Agreement for School Facilities Planning and Siting, Section 3.3, requires the School Board to conduct a public hearing to consider the Land Use Hearing Officer's determination of consistency regarding the proposed school site. District staff submitted its Determination of Consistency package to the County on March 13, 2007 and received the County's determination on June 26, 2007. The Land Use Hearing was held on May 30, 2007.

The Planning Commission has determined that the "UUU" site is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County staff has concurred with that finding. The Land Use Hearing Officer also determined that the proposed high school site is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan subject to conditions.
