SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Proposed Attendance Boundary for the Elementary School Located at The Museum of Science and Industry to Provide Relief to the Overcrowded Shaw Elementary School Located in the University Area.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
An elementary school at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) is scheduled to open in August of the 2007-2008 school year. This school will provide relief to the overcrowded Shaw Elementary School by reassigning a portion of its boundary to the MOSI site. This site has become available to the district and will allow for significant relief to Shaw Elementary School without incurring the cost of a new school building.

Policy 5.03 - The School Board shall establish residential attendance zones for each school.
