Approve Agreements for Technical Services for Adult and Community Education Curriculum Writing Project, $8,000 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the attached list of consultants to develop and/or update adult education credit-earning curriculum in four subjects: Math, English, Social Studies, and Health. In order to effectively complete the curriculum materials, permission is requested to add and/or delete consultants as needed not to exceed the budgeted amount of $8,000.

The Department of Adult and Community Education offers credit-earning classes to students, ages 16 or older, who withdraw from the traditional day program or who are behind in credits and need assistance in meeting graduation requirements to graduate with their cohorts. In the 2006/2007, over 6,000 students were served in credit-earning classes. Adult and Community Education serves as a partner with secondary education in raising the graduation rate of Hillsborough District Schools.
