EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Able Trust has issued a Request for Proposals for the purpose of continuing the High School/High Tech (HS/HT) Program into a fifth year for the period August 1, 2005, through July 31, 2006. The District was awarded a start-up grant in October 2001.

High School/High Tech is an initiative of the Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, and is duplicated in 28 states. The goal of HS/HT is to help high school students with disabilities prepare and advance in postsecondary education or vocational training. This goal is accomplished through a comprehensive program providing career counseling, coursework counseling, college visits, internships, corporate site visits, and job-shadowing in technology-related fields. This grant will serve approximately 50 high school students with disabilities.
