SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Adoption of Recommended Titles as Flexibility Instructional Materials for Use in the District's Health Science and Public Service Education Program. (Technical and Career Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The process for selection of flexibility instructional materials for the District’s Health Science and Public Service Education Program has been completed. The textbook committee studied and recommended instructional materials according to district guidelines. The recommended titles are shown on the attached memorandum from Cosette G. Whitmore, Ph.D., Supervisor, Health Science and Public Service Education will be the primary textbooks for the Criminal Justice I, II, and III Operations courses.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 1 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT reading will increase a
minimum of 5 percentage points.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
These items may be purchased using categorical textbook funds included in the general fund/divisional budget for Curriculum and Instruction. The estimated cost of the primary textbooks for the Criminal Justice I, II, and III Operations courses is $115,145.40.
