On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed ROJO Architecture and Mathews Construction of Tampa to provide design and construction management services for the classroom and media center additions and remodeling of the existing media center to classrooms. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. The scope of work provides for the following: 12 new classrooms and one new media center, remodeling of the existing media center to four classrooms, replacement of the fire alarm and intercom systems, and replacement of a small amount of existing phenolic roofing.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facility. Project completion is scheduled for April 5, 2006.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.

Construction cost is warranted at $2,990,466. The construction budget is $2,969,792 with funding being derived from the following sources: $2,750,892 from Classrooms for Kids funds (classroom additions), $200,000 from Public Education Capital Outlay (fire alarm and intercom replacement), and $18,900 from 2 Mill (phenolic roofing replacement).
