On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed Schenkel Shultz Architecture and Turner Construction to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at Boyette Springs, Cimino, Kingswood, Riverview and Ruskin Elementary Schools. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. The scope of work provides for the construction of 16 additional classrooms at Boyette Springs, Cimino, and Ruskin Elementary Schools, and 10 additional classrooms at Kingswood and Riverview Elementary Schools.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facilities. Completion is scheduled for May 11, 2006.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.

Construction cost is warranted at $8,888,986. The construction budget is $8,761,697 with funding being derived from the following sources: $7,471,360 from Classrooms for Kids (Boyette Springs, Cimino, Riverview, and Ruskin Elementary Schools), and $1,290,337 from Certificates of Participation Series 2001 (Kingswood Elementary School).
