Approve Agricultural Lease with Artesian Farms, Inc. for Cattle Pasture for Agribusiness Department, Lennard High School, 2008-2009 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

We request approval of the Agricultural Lease with Artesian Farms, Inc. for use of land by the Lennard High School Agribusiness Department beginning on September 1, 2008. The property includes approximately 45 acres located South of 11th Avenue, West of 24th Street, North of Shell Point Road in Ruskin, Florida. There is no cost for the land/pasture use and the lease is renewable for up to two additional years. The Lennard High School Agribusiness Department manages cattle that are used for land laboratory experiences for students enrolled in the Veterinary Assisting and Agritechnology Programs. The number of students enrolled in the program and limited available space at the school site necessitates additional property to house and feed the Lennard High School Agribusiness Department cattle.
