Since August 1994, the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida has contracted with Mental Health Care, Inc. (MHC) to provide therapeutic services for students and their families being served in the emotional/behavioral disabilities (E/BD) program.

We request approval of the renewal Memorandum of Agreement with Mental Health Care, Inc. for the continuation of services for August 6, 2008, through June 30, 2009, for $332,850 for continuation of services.

This Agreement, along with additional services provided by MHC with funds from the Department of Children and Families and the School District Psychological and Social Work Services, provides psychiatric, respite, counseling, and wraparound services for approximately 650 E/BD students and families through the District at 75 sites.

Goal 5. The District will close the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

Funds of $332,850 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Project 1531.
