Approve Agreement for Contracted Services Between the Center for Technology and Education and the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Online Consortium for ESOL Online Courses for 2009/2010 (English Language Learners Program)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The ESOL Online Consortium, consisting of the Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Seminole school districts, is requesting approval for contracted services with the Center for Technology and Education. ESOL online professional development services will be provided by the Center for Technology and Education to enable districts to meet ESOL Consent Decree requirements inclusive of teacher certification that impacts Full Time Equivalency (FTE) weighted funding. The ESOL online courses will be provided at no cost to consortium members. The services will begin July 1, 2009, and end June 30, 2010. This agreement establishes the procedures, utilization, and delivery of services for both consortium and non-consortium members and includes the fees for non-consortium members.

Contracted Services will be funded by ESOL Online Consortium. There is no additional cost to the district and the agreement provides Hillsborough County teachers opportunities to participate in ESOL online courses at no charge.
EVALUATION
The ESOL online courses will be evaluated by July 2010.
