Approve the Recommendation to Use the Office Depot Employee Discount Program (Business Division)

The 2008 reader's survey from Edutopia magazine revealed over 50% of teachers spend more than $500 annually on classroom supplies out of their own pockets. Office Depot offers two discount programs to assist teachers and other employees. The Employee Discount Program presents all Hillsborough County Public Schools employees 7% off retail on most office supply items. STAR Teacher is a membership reward program that provides teachers a percent of purchases back, which is redeemable for free merchandise.

Both programs require employees to register at the Office Depot web site. Office Depot continues to provide 5% of any purchase back to the school of choice. Information regarding this program will appear in IDEAS under Business News, Procurement Department.
