SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Purchase of Lawson Talent Management Suite of Products for Tracking of Gates Grant Initiatives (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The district requires a sophisticated set of human resource tools to effectively manage the requirements of the Gates Foundation grant. These tools form the foundation of our performance management framework and enable us to track and report performance metrics on scorecards and dashboards. Because Lawson Talent Management is integrated without existing Lawson business system, it allows the district to seamlessly link compensation with performance. In addition, this suite of tools also provides other functionality including goal management, recruitment, succession planning, and learning and development.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

* Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates, * Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods, * Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce, * Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities, * Demonstrate best financial practices

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The Lawson Talent Management Suite license fee is $832,097 and is funded through the Gates grant for software and infrastructure needs.
