Approve Right-of-Way Conveyance to Hillsborough County for Roadway Improvements as Part of the Citrus Park Drive Extension Project at Deer Park Elementary School

On April 21, 2009, the School Board of Hillsborough County approved an Interlocal Agreement with Hillsborough County for campus roadway improvements at Deer Park Elementary School. These roadway improvements are integrated with the County's Citrus Park Drive Extension Project. The Project requires the redesign of the School road system and driveways to accommodate the introduction of west bound traffic and ensure that the entrances function effectively and safely. The Interlocal Agreement stated that the Facilities Division of the School Board would manage the School road improvement portion of the Project and the County would reimburse the School Board for all design, construction, and administrative expenses.

As part of the Project, a small corner clip of the School's southwest driveway area is required for traffic signal installation. Dedicating the area to the County as right-of-way would allow for the installation of the signal and for continued maintenance by the County. This area is part of a larger area purchased by the School Board in June 2009 for the purpose of the coordinated roadway redesign.

Approval of the right-of-way conveyance to Hillsborough County for roadway improvements on Citrus Park Drive at Deer Park Elementary will have no financial impact to the School Board. Hillsborough County will be funding the $309,000 in construction costs.
