The Matching Funds program was established in 2001-02 by the Superintendent to assist schools and their partners in raising funds for capital school improvements by matching dollars in any amount up to $50,000. On October 26, 2009, a committee composed of elementary, middle, and high school principals, and the Facilities Division, met to review and update the program procedures to be effective for the 2009-10 fiscal year. District Matching Funds are requested for the completion of the project budgets at Citrus Park Elementary School for purchasing technology for the media center and classrooms and a sound center for the covered court, Lake Magdalene Elementary School for installing an outdoor fitness course, Summerfield Crossings Elementary School for constructing a reading garden, and Robinson High School for constructing a courtyard patio.

Total project expenditures for each school are as follows: $40,000 ($20,000 District's contribution, $20,000 Citrus Park Elementary School's contribution), $13,905.15 ($6,952.57 District's contribution, $6,952.58 Lake Magdalene Elementary School's contribution), $15,000 ($7,500 District's contribution, $7,500 Summerfield Crossings Elementary School's contribution), and $13,000 ($6,500 District's contribution, $6,500 Robinson High School's contribution). Expenditures are funded as follows: a minimum contribution of 50% of the project cost from the school and the balance from Millage Matching Funds, not to exceed $50,000.
