Recognition of Just Read, Florida! 2010 Literacy Award State and Regional Winners (Elementary/Middle/Secondary Education - Curriculum and Instruction Division)

Florida school districts were invited to participate with Just Read, Florida! in honoring outstanding educators who have contributed to reading education. The method used to select the candidates varied according to the participating district. Each district K-12 Reading Plan Contact received nomination packets to be submitted on behalf of their district to Just Read, Florida! A representative for each instructional level was selected by a state committee from applications submitted.

The committee’s criteria for selections was based on the applicant’s educational activities at the school, district and/or state and national level, contributions to the professional community, and their expertise in the area of reading. These reading leaders are outstanding educators who have contributed to reading education in Florida, and whose commitment and outstanding efforts make a difference for students each day. Regional and state winners were announced in April/May and will be awarded with certificates and plaques, respectively.
