EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Hillsborough Scholars Summer Academy 2010 is a week-long, fee-based, academic camp designed for the 4,893 highly talented rising grade 8 students who were invited to take the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) as part of the Duke Talent Identification Program. Students were identified by their FCAT Norm-Referenced test scores. There were approximately 1,500 students who took the SAT or ACT in January 2010. Approximately 300 students will attend the camp, which will be held at the University of Tampa and students may choose to attend from one of two sessions, June 14-18 or June 21-25, 2010. Students will select from the following courses: Discover the Code, Follow the Clues, Phun with Physics, Analyze This, Photo Finish, and Cool Chemistry of Life.

This fee-based camp will be taught by Hillsborough County instructors in collaboration with University of Tampa professors. We request the approval of the attached list of Agreements for Technical Services. Also attached are sample Agreements for Technical Services.
