EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On January 27, 2009, the School Board of Hillsborough County approved the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Tampa and the School Board to retrofit emergency shelter facilities at Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary, Forest Hills Elementary and Oak Park Elementary Schools. The Agreement is part of the ongoing partnership between the School Board and the City to participate in the City's Emergency Shelter program. The terms of the original Agreement placed responsibility for funding and construction with the City and the School Board would review, permit and oversee the construction of the improvements. Upon further review and analysis by the City, it was determined that all design and construction should be performed by the Facilities Division of the School Board.

The attached First Amendment stipulates the roles of the School Board and the City for design, construction, completion, funding and maintenance of the facilities. Once completed, these improvements will be considered assets of the School Board.
