On November 3, 2009, the Board appointed the engineering firm of Lyle Engineering Group, Inc. to provide design services. The scope of work provides for renovation of the HVAC system throughout the campus and includes replacement of the existing cooling plant with a thermal ice storage system; new air handlers and ductwork; and a new energy management system. The project scope also includes replacement of ceilings and lights throughout the majority of the campus, and new intercom and fire alarm systems. The Board has previously approved the purchase of major equipment for the project.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attachment). Award of the contract as indicated on the attachment for the base bid and alternates to the lowest qualified bidder, Walbridge Aldinger Company, is recommended.

Total funds in the amount of $2,500,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage. The contract amount being awarded is $2,484,000.
