SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Restructuring of the Career and Technical Education, Adult Technical Education, and Adult and Community Education Departments
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In an effort to maximize the educational opportunities and programs for all students and continue to implement the recommendations of the Business Process Improvement (BPI) team for Adult and Community Education, the Curriculum and Instruction Division is restructuring the organization of the Career and Technical Education, Adult Technical Education, and Adult and Community Education departments and adjusting various job responsibilities. Additionally, Career and Technical program area supervisors will assume the national career cluster titles aligning them with the state and federal departments of education. The General Director of the Career and Technical Education program will assume the title of General Director of Career, Technical & Adult Education (CTAE) along with the responsibilities and oversight of all CTAE programs.
The organization and realignment of Career, Technical and Adult Education will not impact the instructional integrity of the classroom sites and programs will be maintained. We are committed to providing rigorous and relevant coursework which prepares our students for college and careers and supports our adult learners in becoming competitive leaders in the global market.
