SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Renewal of Memorandum of Agreement with Mental Health Care, Inc. (MHC), for Exceptional Student Education Services, 2010/2011 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the agreement for the continuation of services for 2010/2011. Since August 1994, the district has contracted with MHC to provide therapeutic services for students and their families being served in the Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (E/BD) program.

During the 2009/2010 school year, MHC provided psychiatric, respite, counseling, and wrap-around services for approximately 295 E/BD students and families throughout the district at 12 sites. In addition, counseling services were provided to students with disabilities by the district’s Psychological and Social Work Department.

All Strategic Objectives, * Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates, * Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds of $332,850 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

EVALUATION

Improvement in academic and behavioral Individual Educational Plan (IEP) objectives.
