Approve Acceptance of Project for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Plant Replacements and Renovations at
Bing, Boyette Springs, Hunter's Green, and Schwarzkopf Elementary Schools

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 18, 2008, the Board appointed Carastro & Associates, Inc. to provide design services. On May 19, 2009, the Board awarded the contract for construction to the low bidder, B & I Contractors, Inc. The scope of work provided for the replacement of existing ice harvester cooling plants with new plants incorporating air cooled chillers and ice storage tanks at Bing, Boyette Springs, Hunter's Green, and Schwarzkopf Elementary Schools. The project also provided for the upgrade of energy management controls at each site, and energy efficient lighting retrofits at Boyette Springs, Hunter's Green, and Schwarzkopf.

The engineer advises that the referenced project is substantially complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
