Quarterly Report of Piggyback Contract Purchases (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Procurement Department has the responsibility to initiate cost saving wherever possible. Applicable Florida Department of Education and district policy allows purchases from contracts awarded by other governmental agencies, district school boards, Department of Management Services (DMS), etc., at or below specified prices. This practices reduces procurement administrative costs, can provide lower prices for large agencies' volume, and expedites time sensitive procurements.
Piggyback, by definition, is a procedure of procuring goods or services by utilitzing another public entity's award of an Invitation to Bid or Request for Proposal.
