SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the County Adoption of Recommended Titles as Flexibility Instructional Materials for Secondary Mathematics Program, Secondary Reading Program, Business and Marketing Education Program, and Health Services Education Program (Secondary Education, Career and Technical Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval to adopt the instructional materials listed on the attached memorandums from Michael Smith, Supervisor, Secondary Mathematics; Lynn Dougherty-Underwood, Supervisor, Middle and Secondary Reading; Chris Jargo, Supervisor, Business Technology Education; and Cosette Whitmore, Supervisor, Health Science and Public Service Education. District Instructional Materials Selection Committees evaluated and recommended these instructional materials in accordance with School Board Policies 2510 and 2520 and district administrative procedures which include the following:

* Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

These items may be purchased using categorical textbook funds in the general operating budget for Curriculum and Instruction. The estimated cost is $9,790 for Secondary Mathematics; $740,395 for Secondary Reading; $106,300 for Business and Marketing Education; and $21,970.75 for Health Sciences for a total cost of $878,455.75.
