Approve Design Development Phase for Renovation at
Bloomingdale High School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On October 20, 2009, the Board appointed Holmes Hepner and Associates Architects to provide design services. On July 27, 2010, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Allstate Construction, Inc. The renovation of existing facilities will include new fencing; interior and exterior painting; drainage remediation; bleacher repairs; electrical upgrades; safety upgrades including the addition of two new stairs; servery remodeling and kitchen upgrades; replacement of doors and hardware, ceilings, and interior lighting; replacement of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment; partial replacement of athletic lighting, flooring and low-voltage systems; and remodeling as required for improved handicapped accessibility. Project completion is scheduled for December 2012.

Approval of the design development phase will allow the architect to proceed with construction documents.

The project is currently funded at $15,200,000. The estimate of probable cost is $15,170,464. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage and Certificates of Participation Series (CoPS).
