Approve the Naming of the Athletic Field at Gaither High School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Gaither High School faculty, staff and community members have requested that the athletic field at Gaither High School be named the Ronald L. Allen Athletic Field in honor of Mr. Ronald L. Allen.

Mr. Allen began his employment in 1965 as a teacher at Chamberlain High School and retired from Hillsborough County Public Schools in June 1993. During his tenure Mr. Ronald L. Allen held the positions of teacher, Dean, Assistant Principal and Principal. Mr. Allen was Gaither High School’s first principal.

Mr. Allen is an important part of the local community in Northwest Hillsborough County and the history of Gaither High School. The faculty and community would like to celebrate his dedication with this honor.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)

There is no financial cost to the district for the naming of the Athletic Field.
