EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Initiative: We believe that these programs will provide invaluable opportunities and services to students with disabilities, ages 18-22, transitioning from a secondary setting to postsecondary endeavors.
Goals:
Targeted Population: REACH and STAGES were developed to provide services to eligible students with disabilities who are ages 18-22 and have graduated with a special diploma.
Timeline: REACH and STAGES are operational during the academic school year and follow the instructional calendar.
Professional Development: Professional development trainings are offered through the Department of Exceptional Student Education, Transition Program.
Transferability: The REACH and STAGES programs assist students with disabilities transitioning into postsecondary opportunities.
Involvement: The partnership between Hillsborough County Public Schools and the University of South Florida along with St. Joseph’s Hospital is critical for program implementation and success.
