SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Water intrusion at Wilson Middle School has forced the closure of several areas at the school. Staff had previously selected rojo Architecture, LLC from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for replacement of the roof on the historic building (Building 1). To accelerate completion of the roof replacement in light of the emergency created by the closure, staff bypassed normal advertising requirements and solicited proposals from three roofing contractors with a successful track record with the District. Of the two proposals received, Staff has determined that the proposal submitted by Southern Roofing Company, Inc. provides the best combination of cost and completion time and has directed Southern Roofing to proceed with the work on an emergency basis.
