EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the Agreement with Nancy Toelle for professional development and program consultation. FIMC-VI is charged with providing disability-specific statewide services and professional development to Florida’s school districts. The consultant will:
- Coordinate the creation of training materials and the delivery of workshop content for phase one of the implementation of Quality Programs for the Visually Impaired (QPVI). This effort will assist targeted central Florida districts to develop their program capabilities to better meet the needs of their students who are blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind. This two day workshop, approved by the Florida Department of Education, will be October 25-26, 2010, in Sanford, Florida.
- Create training materials, coordinate, and deliver content for a two day follow-up workshop to implement phase two of QPVI in south Florida districts. This follow-up training will be December 2-3, 2010, in Miami, Florida.
- Continue to collaborate with existing QPVI efforts in Duval, Hillsborough, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk school districts as they implement QPVI.
- Provide consultation in the development of online training, video conferencing, and other alternate delivery methods for follow-up and ongoing collaboration related to QPVI.
