EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The following annual Energy Conservation reports spanning SY 08-09 and SY 09-10 demonstrate the District’s conservation efforts. During that period, energy consumption was significantly reduced. The District’s energy consumption per square foot dropped from 13.7 kWh/sqft in SY07-08, to 12.9 kWh/sqft for SY08-09. This represents over a 10% kWh reduction from SY07-08, once new construction and exempt sites are excluded from the calculations. Having exceeded 10% energy reduction on their assigned sites, the mentors shall receive an incentive equal to 10% incentive of their salary.
The District energy consumption rose slightly to 13.3 kWh/sqft in SY09-10. However, this increase was heavily influenced by the extreme weather during that year. Still, this is well below the 13.7 kWh/sqft in SY07-08 and represents approximately 3% savings.
When looking at these combined school years, the district has avoided costs of approximately $4.86 million, which represents 11.9% savings.
