Summary of Results from the 2009-10 Annual Facility Maintenance Survey
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The attached chart and survey represents the summary results from the 2009-10 Annual Facility Maintenance Survey.
- 87% of the respondents reported that their overall satisfaction level exceeded expectations.
- An analysis of the individual system related questions clearly indicate that a continued focus in the areas of roofs and HVAC systems is necessary.
- The two areas of service concentration were “improve the quality of work” (do it right the first time) and “improve response time”, when prompted for areas of improvement from a given list.
Staff Follow-Up:
- The recent Board approved HVAC department reorganization will impact both quality and timeliness of service and improved deferred maintenance documentation will ensure that capital dollars will be spent on the most critical systems.
- The recently hired contracted services inspector is expected to produce a measured improvement in the quality of work performed by outside vendors and the increased training provided by our staff development department will provide our in-house staff with the tools to improve the quality of staff performed tasks.
- The new Facility Maintenance Request System will go live on October 1 and improvement in the real time communication between the requestor and the service provider will help expedite the technician’s response.
We take this annual survey very seriously, appreciate the candid nature of the responses and as in the past will make every effort to make the adjustments and improvements suggested. Our goal is to receive a 100% “exceeds expectation."
