Contract and Renew with TransDiesel of Lakeland, Utilizing the Rebuilt Transmissions Contract with the School District of Manatee County, Florida, for the Purchase of Rebuilt Transmissions (Business Division)

Applicable Florida Department of Education and district policy allows purchases from contracts awarded by other governmental agencies, district school boards, Department of Management Services (DMS), etc., at or below specified prices. This practice reduces procurement administrative costs and can provide lower prices for large agencies’ volume.

Transportation Department will be utilizing the School District of Manatee County agreement to purchase parts and labor for rebuilt transmissions.

The initial term for this award was from October 23, 2007 through October 8, 2010, with one year automatic renewals. The School District of Manatee County has renewed the agreement beginning October 9, 2010 through October 8, 2011, and has negotiated a decrease in pricing with the vendor. The price decrease will represent a savings of approximately $5,600 annually. The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal agreement for the terms of the specifications.
