Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Elise Neil Bengtson to Assist the Empowering Effective Teachers Grant (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of the Empowering Effective Teachers Grant it is imperative for our district to have a developer/liaison to work, grow and secure community partnerships. The professional outreach at the local, state and federal level is needed to meet the needs of our strategic objectives. As the seven-year initiative moves forward, community support is essential to sustain the effort and maintain momentum.

While meeting the goals of our grant we will be utilizing Ms. Bengtson for key business events, initiatives, building new partnerships and community support. Ms. Bengtson has a B.A. degree in Political Science from Converse College. She has worked as a developer with various community, non-profit groups and government agencies including the Fairfax Partnership for Youth, the McLean Chamber of Commerce, and the National Security Council.
