Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Imagination Station, Inc., d/b/a istation - $22,500 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

We request approval of the Agreement for Technical Services with Imagination Station, Inc. d/b/a istation to provide fifteen (15) days of professional development to all K-3 reading coaches or technology contacts assigned to participating Imagination Station schools. Professional development will include: Train-the-Trainer to launch the Imagination Station, Data Consultation, and Progress Monitoring with Imagination Station.

The Imagination Station Reading Program is a web-based supplemental reading program that will impact 7,130 kindergarten through third grade students in sixty-five (65) elementary schools achieving less than Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) or performing below grade level in reading. The program consists of two components: 1) the interactive curriculum and progress monitoring system, and 2) curriculum linked to data reports that are available from the website, which may be used for additional teacher-directed classroom instruction.

Goal 1 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT reading will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.

Funds of $22,500 are included in the departmental budget for Elementary Reading Instruction, Project 6074.

Imagination Station data reports will be analyzed for percentage increase in number of students meeting benchmark expectations. June 2008
