Cancel Contract with School Readiness Programs and Family Child Care Home Marie Davis-Tsuruda, Effective November 1, 2007 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The contract with Family Child Care Home Marie Davis-Tsuruda for the provision of child care and early education services for children of income eligible families is to be cancelled in response to notification by the owner that said facility was closed September 21, 2007. The term of the contract was October 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $28,503 was to be used to provide education and care for approximately 10 eligible children of low-income families at the monthly rate of $3,167 per child. The federal/state grant funds are channeled to the District from the Florida Office of Early Learning and the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition d/b/a Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. Due to the facility being closed and thereby effectuating cancellation of the contract, the funding of $28,503 will be made available to other providers assuming the care of children enrolled at the time of the closure of Family Child Care Home Marie Davis-Tsuruda.

EVALUATION

No evaluation will be conducted due to this action being a contract cancellation.
