Florida Statute 1013.31 requires that each school board conduct an educational plant survey at least every five years. The Board approved the District's current survey on May 4, 2004. The survey recommends new facilities as well as additions, remodeling, and renovations at existing sites.

As exceptions to the survey recommendations arise, the Board is required to submit a "spot survey" to the Department of Education for each facility. Spot surveys are now required for classroom additions at the following elementary schools:

1. Clair Mel to construct 10 classrooms adding 180 student stations.
2. Colson to construct 10 classrooms adding 180 student stations.
3. Ippolito to construct 10 classrooms adding 180 student stations.
4. Jackson to construct 8 classrooms adding 144 student stations.
5. Lewis to construct 10 classrooms adding 180 student stations.
6. Pinecrest to construct 12 classrooms adding 216 student stations.
7. Seffner to construct 10 classrooms adding 180 student stations.
8. Sessums to construct 16 classrooms adding 288 student stations.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.
