SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Interior Build Out at the
Ancillary Office Building

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 24, 2007, the Board appointed The Architectural Practice to provide design services. The Morganti Group Inc. was appointed on May 8, 2007, to provide construction services. The scope of work provides for the interior build out of new tenant spaces. The tenants of the Ancillary Building will include Student Nutritional Services, Student Records, Media Services, Internal Communications, and Staff Development. Unfinished space has been reserved for the future occupancy of the Center for Technology and Education. The conference, meeting, and training spaces will be shared by all tenants. The collocation of the Center for Technology and Education with the office of Staff Development in close proximity with Media Services, and the broadcast studio, is expected to be very beneficial to the District. Project completion is scheduled for January 21, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the facility.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $3,669,763. The construction budget is $4,100,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Community Investment Tax.
