Recognition of Citrus Park Elementary and Benito Middle Schools (Student Services and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Schools were invited to submit an application for the Department of Education's Parent Involvement Award program. The purpose of this award is to promote and recognize innovative school practices that increase family involvement. A committee reviewed the applications and selected Citrus Park Elementary's "Science Can Be Fun" as the outstanding program at the elementary school level and Benito Middle School's "24 Style" as the outstanding program at the middle/senior school level. These projects were then submitted to the Department of Education for further review.
We are pleased to announce that Benito Middle School's program was designated as the outstanding middle/senior program in Region IV. Their program will appear in a future edition of "Sparkplugs", a DOE publication highlighting innovative programs. A representative from the school presented their program at the PTA Leadership Conference this summer.
