2007 Great American Teach-In
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Great American Teach-In was initiated in 1990 as a joint effort of the Hillsborough Education Foundation, SERVE, local businesses and educators to encourage the community and parents to share real life insight into working careers while reinforcing the importance of education for success. District schools hosted 10,017 speakers and 21,601 presentations at the seventeenth Annual Great American Teach-In on November 14, 2007. Scheduled speakers ranged from law enforcement officers, aviation authority, and fire rescue, to authors to cake decorators. The Fox News 13 helicopter, police helicopter, police vehicles, fire trucks, and antique vehicles were displayed. In addition, the SERVE office provided 29,000 brochures and 1,250 posters promoting the event.
