Approve Retroactive Agreement with University of South Florida Tampa Bay Area Writing Project - $5,000 (Division of Administration)

Patricia Daniel, Director, Tampa Bay Area Writing Project/USF, will conduct a writing workshop for teachers to focus on craft and fluency with their students. Trainer will provide demonstration lessons in grade 4 classrooms. The contract period is from January 9, 2008, to February 6, 2008. This contract was not submitted in a timely manner by the school.

Goal 4 - The percentage of students achieving a score of 4.0 or higher on FCAT Writing will increase a minimum of five percentage points.

This project was approved in the school improvement plan and $5,000 is available in the school's accountability funds project.

The evaluation will be done at the conclusion of the 2008 school year to determine if the training provided had a positive impact on student achievement.
